Arrival OrientationThe arrival orientation is your chance to learn what you need to know to be happy and successful during your stay in the USA with Intrax. Whether you choose an English, business or TOEFL program, your first day at Intrax Chicago will introduce you to our staff, the neighborhood and our facilities. During your program at Intrax Chicago, our staff will always be available to answer your questions, help you solve problems and give you advice on how to make your English education experience better. You'll be supported by Intrax Chicago's Student Advisers, teachers, student ambassadors, supervisors and the Center Director.
In addition to providing help when you ask for it, our team members will ensure that the English or business program you have selected is working for you. This begins with the initial counseling session during your arrival orientation and continues with follow up sessions during and at the end of your program. Traveling to the USA to study at Intrax is about more than just sitting in a classroom. It's an opportunity to experience the people and culture of the city where you are studying so that you gain a full immersion experience. Intrax Chicago has an exciting activities program designed to get you out of the center, using your English in real-life situations and experiencing everything Chicago and its surrounding areas have to offer. Intrax Chicago offers homestay or Residence Club accommodation.
Intrax Chicago's Accommodation Coordinator can match you with a local Chicago host family who will provide you with a bedroom, meals and a friendship that can last a lifetime. We carefully screen every prospective host family to ensure that they will be able to provide Intrax students with clean, comfortable and friendly accommodations in a safe residential neighborhood. When you choose to live in a Residence Club, you will enjoy an independent living situation with an international atmosphere, dormitory-style housing and meal options or shared kitchen. Residence clubs provide an opportunity to get to know students and travelers from all over the world. Intrax Chicago partners with two Residence Clubs: International House and Arlington House. Traveling is tiring and can be overwhelming even if you feel confident in your English language skills. Our Intrax Chicago staff can work with you to either recommend the best and most affordable route on public transportation to your accommodation or organize your transportation to and from the airport to make your arrival and departure to and from Chicago easier.
Our transportation service includes meeting you at the curbside arrival area of the airport and dropping you off with your host family or at the residence club. Upon departure, you can also request to be picked up from your housing and dropped off at the departure area of the airport in plenty of time for your return flight home. In order to take advantage of this service, you must provide your detailed flight information to Intrax at least two weeks before your arrival or departure date.
For Intrax students interested in attending a U.S. college or university, Intrax Chicago offers a special service to help you achieve your goals. Over the years, hundreds of Intrax students have used our college and university placement service to successfully enroll in such prestigious Chicago institutions as:

- De Paul University
- Roosevelt University
These are just a few of the schools that have accepted Intrax International Institute graduates. You can enjoy this type of success by enrolling in any Intensive or Super Intensive schedule and then taking advantage of Friday appointments with a Student Advisor who can help you to select a university or college program, assist you with the application forms, help you to prepare your application essay (if needed), and generally prepare you for success at the college or university of your choice. This bi-annual fair is your chance to discover vocational, certificate, undergraduate, and graduate level study options for your academic career after Intrax. You can meet American University and College International Student Advisors and get free visa and study advice. The fair is open to anyone who would like to receive advice and information about studying in the USA.

When you finish your Intrax program, we want to celebrate your success! Intrax Chicago holds a weekly student graduation every Thursday afternoon. During the graduation ceremony, the Center Director presents graduates with a signed certificate of completion and takes a picture with you. This event is an opportunity to celebrate graduating students' achievements with current students, teachers and staff.
