Homestay Accommodation
Living with a family is a unique way to experience American traditions and culture first hand. It's also a great opportunity to become fully immersed in the English language and practice your English language skills with real Americans everyday.
When you select our homestay option you are placed with a trusted family in the Chicago area who have been carefully screened and interviewed. We offer both single and double occupancy options. Additionally, all homestay families provide 14 meals per week (breakfast and dinner).
Please note: The Intrax Housing Coordinator requires at least 4 weeks notice prior to your intended arrival date to book your homestay. The Housing Coordinator is also available to answer any questions you may have about living with an American family.

Residence Club Accommodation
When you choose to live in a Residence Club you will enjoy an independent living situation with an international atmosphere, dormitory-style housing and meal options or shared kitchen. Residence clubs also provide an opportunity to get to know students and travelers from all over the world.

Chicago Getaway Hostel is located on the city's northeast side in a neighborhood called Lincoln Park. Chicago Getaway Hostel is close to the Fullerton "El" station, about 20 minutes from our Intrax center via the Redline train. It is also accessible via the 22 Clark and 151 Sheridan buses. This residence club offers private rooms, with shared bath, a bed and dresser. Chicago Getaway Hostel also has a TV lounge, central lobby, vending machines, outside area and public computers. This option is suitable for students on a very tight budget.

Consecutive 29 nights / 30 days stay required. Any stays shorter than this will be invoiced at daily or weekly rates with a tax of 15.4% (included in the fees above).

The International House is located on the campus of the University of Chicago, about 20 minutes from our Intrax center via the Metra train. This residence club offers private rooms (with shared bathroom) with a bed, desk, dresser and closet. The common areas provide a place to socialize and study during the day or evening. There is also a library, TV lounge, computer lab with internet access and laundry room. A large kitchen is available for residents to prepare their own meal. This is a great place for students who are looking for a longer term stay and who enjoy meeting college and graduate students from around the world.

*Students must sign a special contract with International House prior to arrival and will be
subject to higher cancellation fees and penalties for any change in duration of stay. A nonrefundable
$50.00 application fee is included in the 8 week pricing. 8 week rates may be
extended for up to 30 days for an additional $35 / night if space is available.
International House - consecutive 56 nights / 57 days stay required for the 8 week
contract. Consecutive 30 nights / 31 days required for the monthly rate. Any stays
shorter than this will be calculated based on nightly rate without exception.
MDA City Apartments

MDA is a modern building containing individual apartments ranging from studios to 2 bedroom apartments. MDA is located downtown in the heart of the theatre district, adjacent to the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue, and is only a 1 minute walk from Intrax! MDA apartments include, wood floors, granite island kitchens, bathrooms, appliances and magnificent views. MDA offers a rooftop sky terrace, 24/7 concierge and innovative technology. MDA accommodations are fully furnished with linens and kitchen ware. These accommodations are perfect for the student who wants to be very close to the school and for groups.

MDA or Intrax does not match students to share rooms. Student(s) must sign a special lease with MDA prior to arrival.
Student must provide a credit card at check in as a deposit to cover cost on utilities, telephone charges and any potential damage to the property.
