Academic Year in Canada (AYCAN)
Similar to our 'AYUSA' program available in the US, Canadian operations offer a program called Academic Year in Canada (AYCAN). First, Intrax skillfully matches students (12 to 18 years old) to a public or private school within a community in Canada so that they can complete a semester or full academic year of study. Intrax provides on going high quality cultural, educational and social support throughout the study period to ensure the students thrive through their experience.
The Intrax Homestay Family, Intrax Placement Coordinators, and School Staff will be the support team for young students in their new environment. Evenings and weekends are spent with host families and school friends while enjoying all the hospitality that Canada has to offer. Host families are surrogate family and friends while students are in Canada. Finally our specially trained Intrax Placement Coordinators will work closely with the students, schools, and host families to ensure that students have a safe and fulfilling experience.
Program Details
Intrax offers two Academic exchange programs called: Academic Year (10 months) and Academic Semester (5 months).
The program includes:
- Airport pick-up and arrival orientation
- Placement with a carefully screened host family
- Custodianship
- Medical insurance
- Enrollment in a Canadian high school (private or public)
- Year-round Academic and Social counseling
- Year-round supervision and support from a local Intrax representative
- Written quarterly progress reports to your parents back home
Application Process
You must meet the following criteria to enroll:
- You must be between the ages of 13 and 18 when you arrive
- You should have at least a 'functional' or intermediate level of spoken and written English, and be able to provide a test score or documentation illustrating your English ability.
- You need to have a strong academic record with an average grade of "C" or better in your home country, and provide academic transcripts from your previous years of study.
- You need to demonstrate the necessary maturity to successfully study at a Canadian school
RESULTS
Graduates from Intrax's AYCAN program dramatically improve their language and academic skills to achieve a competitive advantage in the university enrollment process in their home country. They also develop an intimate understanding of Canadian culture, and make friends that will last a lifetime.

Once confirmed, Intrax will inform students of their acceptance to a school. Intrax will provide information about the school, community, and homestay.
